Service Chief of Pediatrics at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital Named
WEST BLOOMFIELD – Irvin Kappy, M.D., a 20-year pediatrician at Henry Ford Health System, was named Service Chief of Pediatrics at the Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.
In this newly created position, Dr. Kappy will oversee pediatric inpatient and outpatient services. The 300-bed hospital is under construction and scheduled to open in July 2008.
Dr. Kappy obtained his medical degree from Michigan State University and completed his residency at Children’s Hospital of Oakland in California. He has served in several leadership roles since joining Henry Ford in 1986, including most recently as associate medical director for the Henry Ford Medical Center-West Bloomfield and for the health system’s Northern Region. He also has a key role in the medical center’s mentorship program that exposes students from the West Bloomfield High School to the medical field.
