Providing Henry Ford Health System physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers with reliable information that is current and quickly available is the mission of the Sladen Library. Maintaining the historic record of Henry Ford Health System, so that we can continue to build upon our accomplishments is the mission of the Conrad R. Lam Archives.
The Sladen Library and Lam Archives must evolve with the changing healthcare environment. The service we provide has been effective and well respected by our staff and the community. Maintaining this excellent service now requires new technologies to access all available information.
A number of questions come to mind in this regard. How can we make medical information available with new technology, such as Palm Pilots? How can we digitize the historical photograph collection and make it available to our alumni and friends on the Internet? While we are fully funded by Henry Ford Health System, these funds do not always provide for capital improvements. These important funds must be found from other sources. As a result we want to focus our volunteer resources to philanthropic efforts and we are hoping you will be part of it.
