Boot Camp Offers Pre-season Conditioning for Athletes

DETROIT - Henry Ford Hospital's Center for Athletic Medicine is offering a week-long, pre-season boot camp for high school athletes to provide conditioning and improve overall performance.
Henry Ford's staff of Certified Athletic Trainers and Performance Enhancement Specialists will take participants through a series of exercises in a circuit training format. The five, 60-minute classes will include a dynamic warm-up, two times around the circuit and a cool-down session. These functional exercises are designed to improve core, power, strength, speed and stability.
The classes are geared for athletes of all sports to help improve athletic performance and decrease risk of injury.
The boot camp will be held 4:30-5:30 p.m., March 2-6 at the University of Michigan Dearborn Fieldhouse, 4901 Evergreen Rd., in Dearborn.
