BROWNSTOWN - Josephine Ford Cancer Center-Downriver is celebrating Certified Nurses Day, March 19th by honoring its board certified nurses.
The following nurses who are board certified in oncology are being recognized for their professionalism, leadership and commitment to excellence in patient care:
"We encourage national board certification for all of our nurses at Josephine Ford Cancer Center- Downriver," says Ron Slyter, vice president of Operations, Community Care Services, Henry Ford Health System.
According to Mr. Slyter, board certification of nurses plays an increasingly important role in the assurance of high standards of care for patients and their loved ones. Nursing, like health care in general has become increasingly complex. While a registered nurse license provides entry to general nursing practice, the knowledge-intensive requirements of modern nursing require extensive post-secondary and continuing education as well as a strong commitment to excellence.
Josephine Ford Cancer Center-Downriver, located at 19675 Allen Road, Brownstown offers a full range of cancer services in a local community setting. For further information call (734) 479-3311 or visit www.henryford.com.
