All residents are trained to treat a variety of contrast reactions, including bronchospasm, anxiety attack and anaphylaxis using the simulation center's Sim-Man.
Residents undergo training in proper technique for ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration and core biopsy. Dedicated ultrasound machines and phantoms are available in the simulation center for both proctored and independent practice. All residents undergo a practical examination including all aspects of performing a biopsy.
All residents learn proper lumbar puncture technique in the simulation center prior to starting the spine intervention service.
