Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is the name of a group of disorders that causes the intestines to become red and swollen.

If you have IBD, you may experience abdominal cramps, pain, diarrhea, weight loss and bleeding from your intestines.

Two kinds of Inflammatory Bowel Disease are: Crohn's Disease, which usually causes ulcers along the length of the small and large intestines, or; Ulcerative Colitis which causes ulcers in the lower part of the large intestine, often starting at the rectum.
