It begins with education. Our philosophy is that an informed patient is less anxious. That’s why a team of expert surgeons and nurses consults with you before your surgery to explain everything you need to know, from the risks and benefits of your surgery to how your pain will be controlled, and more. During this consultation, our skilled team also answers any questions you have. Then, a special packet is sent to your home that explains what to expect the day of your surgery.
On the day of your surgery, we involve your family. We know how important their presence and support is, so we include them throughout the entire process.
Before you are discharged, our surgeons and nurses meet with you and your family for further education. Instructions include everything from how to care for your dressing to when to take your medication and more. At this time, the physician will tell you what is normal and what you should report. Once you’re home recovering, one of our nurses calls you within 24 hours to see how you’re doing and if any intervention is necessary.

In fact, there are certain types of surgery where you can choose everything from the particular technique the surgeon will use to the day, time and place of your surgery. For the ultimate in convenience, you can choose to have your surgery performed on a Saturday and in many cases you can return to work on Monday morning.

We offer inpatient and outpatient surgical services. Our surgery department features 9 operating room suites, one cystoscopy room, two state-of-the art endoscopy rooms and two state-of-the art cataract procedure rooms as well as a patient care unit dedicated to surgical patients.
