One Visit Makes it Easy For your convenience and peace-of-mind, the Prostate Cancer Options Program provides educational sessions and multiple appointments with different specialists, all during one visit. You and your family members are invited to participate in all aspects of the program.
Please plan to allow two to three hours for your visit. The Prostate Cancer Options Program begins with an educational session, led by a registered nurse, about prostate cancer and its treatment. Following this session, you will have separate appointments with several prostate cancer specialists for evaluation and treatment planning. They will discuss the different treatments with you in detail and make a recommendation based on your unique situation. During this process, you and your family are encouraged to ask questions and express any concerns you may have so that you can make an informed decision about your care.
When you make your decision, your nurse coordinator is available to assist you in scheduling your next appointment, provide pre-treatment instructions and answer any questions you may have. This person will also provide information about support groups for men with prostate cancer and phone numbers to call if you have additional questions before your scheduled treatment.
