Neuroscience Research

The Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute specializes in "bench to bedside" research, focusing laboratory studies to uncover the causes and mechanisms of progression of neurological diseases and to translate these findings into development of new therapies for our patients. Our neuroscientists and physician-researchers are supported by over $20 million in research funding from the National Institutes of Health and other sources. These research efforts have resulted in new therapies for brain cancer, spine cancer, stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and many other conditions. The Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute works with other institutions across the country and throughout the world to advance research for neurological diseases with the aim to turn life-threatening, disabling conditions into chronic controllable diseases.
