The Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute specializes in bringing together the many diagnostic, medical, interventional, and surgical specialties required to provide state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for patients with neurological diseases.

With more than 1,000 types of neurological diseases, correct diagnosis and treatment is vital. To assure the best care approach for each patient, teams of expert physicians from many different specialties at Henry Ford meet regularly in Multidisciplinary Case Review Boards for patients seeking first or second opinions for diagnosis and/or treatment of the most complex conditions:

State-of-the-Art Facilities
Because of this expertise and combined strength, the Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute is one of the nation's top centers for neurological diseases. The Neuroscience Institute is distinguished by expert physicians, laboratory and clinical research, and specialized centers of care. Henry Ford Hospital's Neuroscience Inpatient Units include a 12-bed Acute Stroke Unit, a 7-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, a 16-bed Neurointensive Care Unit, a 32-bed General Neuroscience Unit, and an 8-bed Neuroscience Stepdown Unit, each staffed by specialty physicians and neuroscience trained nurses.

Henry Ford Hospital has been continually ranked by U.S. News and World Report to be among the top centers in neurology and neurosurgery in the country - number 26 in the nation in 2008 - and the top hospital in Michigan.
