Henry Ford offers extensive pulmonary functioning testing for lung diseases.  Our Interventional Pulmonology team also is developing and using the newest diagnostic technologies, such as autofluorescence bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound and needle biopsies.

Our division’s facilities include intensive and intermediate care units, an inpatient lung specialty floor, a pulmonary physiology laboratory with the capacity for exercise testing, a hyperbaric treatment center and a state-of-the-art bronchoscopy suite.  As a result, patients have access to the area’s most innovative programs and the latest treatments:

Through our participation in clinical trials, patients also have access to new therapies before they are available to the general public. Our division is responsible for basic and clinical research in COPD, sarcoidosis, sepsis, tuberculosis and respiratory failure with funding from multiple sources, including the National Institutes of Health and American Lung Association.
