Meningococcemia en las pantorrillas

La meningococcemia es una infeccion peligrosa que ocurre cuando el meningococo Neisseria meningitidis invade el torrente sanguineo. Puede implicar sangrado dentro de la piel (petequias y purpura), asi como la muerte del tejido implicado (necrosis o gangrena). Si el paciente sobrevive, estas areas sanan dejando cicatrices.
