Henry Ford Hospital operates one of the largest medical intensive care units
in the country as well as large surgical, neonatal and cardiac intensive care
units.
There are 44 medical intensive care beds and eight step down beds.
In order to deliver the highest quality in patient care, all Henry Ford
medical intensive care patients are care fore a by a large team of physicians,
physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapist and social
workers. This team works with each other to ensure all the patients acute and
long-term medical needs are met. The nurse to patient ratio is no more than 2 to
