About the Pathology Residency Training Program

The Henry Ford Department of Pathology offers two pathology residency training tracks: either a 4 year combined AP/CP program or a 3 year AP only program. Both are located at the fifteenth largest hospital based laboratory in the country at Henry Ford hospital. Our size offers many benefits including a large subspecialty trained professional staff, rich and abundant clinical volume from primary to quaternary care in complexity, and the latest laboratory technology available. The academic productivity of the staff and clinical scientists is reflected in the program ranking in the top 6% of all academic programs world-wide for peer reviewed first authored clinical investigations accepted for presentation at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. We provide a structured learning environment for residents to obtain the scientific, clinical and managerial skills necessary to practice pathology in either a community or academic setting. To optimize the strength of combined AP/CP training, the rotations are uniquely designed to maximize resident learning and the development of professional skills.
