The Henry Ford Skull base Surgery Program is a multi-disciplinary effort between the Departments of Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology and Interventional Neuroradiology.

Henry Ford’s skull base program is one of the most active in the country and referrals are made from around the world. The surgical clinical practice includes all aspects of skull base and intracranial problems including:
Anterior, middle and posterior skull base cases with a significant focus on acoustic neuromas, (also known as vestibular schwanommas)
Facial nerve tumors
Other cerebellopontine lesions
The team also is responsible for the management of, temporal bone tumors and cysts, pituitary adenomas, skull base meningiomas, and the surgical management of Meniere’s disease. Interventional radiologic facilities for preoperative carotid and vertebral occlusion, tumor embolization are readily available. Additionally, we have the opportunity to offer gamma knife/stereotactic radiation therapy.
