The Henry Ford Department of Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine offers a full service pediatric orthopaedics program devoted to the care of bones and joints in infants, children, adolescents and teenagers. Henry Ford is currently Michigan’s only health system with doctors specially trained to perform a periacetabular osteotomy to treat hip dysplasias in adolescents and adults. Our specialists provide expert surgical and non-surgical management and care for the full spectrum of childhood orthopaedic disorders.
In addition to having full service capabilities, such as diagnostics, bracing and surgery, the pediatric orthopaedics program takes a multi-disciplinary approach to caring for each child. The program works closely with physical therapists, physiatrists and neurologists to address each case individually. It also has access to comprehensive genetic services and counseling for congenital disorders.
