The Facilities Our hospice residences are located in Southfield and Warren. Care is available for acute, routine and respite patients.
Each of the private suites is comfortably furnished and each has an adjacent restroom. All rooms are equipped with a TV and seating area. The residences are also equipped with a spa tub and a large walk-in shower room.
Spacious lounge areas are available for resident and family use. Families are encouraged to make use of these for celebrations such as holidays or birthdays.
Meals are provided through a contract agreement with a dietary service. Kitchen areas are equipped with the basic amenities of home so that visitors may prepare a resident's favorite meal. Our dietician can make recommendations for appropriate meals based on the patient's ability to eat. Guest trays may be ordered by contacting the staff or office coordinator.
Staffing Our residences are staffed by Henry Ford Hospice and its contracted employees. Nurses and nurse aides are on duty for each shift. In addition, a social worker, chaplain, and volunteer coordinator are on duty during regular business hours and on-call during off hours. Volunteers provide companionship for patients and family members. Specially trained Henry Ford Medical Group Palliative Care and Hospice Physicians work with the patient's physician to provide pain and symptom management.
Family/ Visitors
There are no restrictions on family or visitors. Although family members are encouraged to return to their own home to receive adequate rest, staff can arrange accommodations for overnight stays.
Insurance Coverage
Medicare, Medicaid, and most private, commercial insurance policies provide hospice coverage. There are also a few insurance programs that provide coverage for room and board charges.
Thanks to the generosity and annual support of organizations like the Women's Committee for Hospice Care, individual donations, and the fund raising efforts of many volunteers, we are able to provide industry leading hospice care, while maintaining one of the lowest room and board costs for a hospice residence.
